Vaccine line-jumpers got jabs Ministry confirms
The Vice Minister of Health, Ivette Berrío, has confirmed that doses of the vaccine against Covid-19 were applied to people who did not qualify.
Panama began its vaccination process against the virus last Wednesday, January 20, with the arrival of a first batch of Pfizer vaccines, about 12,800 doses.
“It was detected in the technological information that the vaccination process gives us that a few doses were placed in people who did not correspond to them,” said on Sunday in the program ‘Open Debate’ on Telemetro.
Berrío did not specify the number of people who were vaccinated without being in the front line group in the battle against the virus, but he announced that this occurred in the capital city and that the institution’s leadership will take the corresponding actions.

The complaints of favoritism and playing alive in the application of vaccines were made from the first day of vaccination by medical associations, who warned that there was no inspection or distribution plan for the vaccines.

According to the vaccination program, in phase 1-A, health workers and support personnel will be vaccinated on the front line in the public and private systems. Bedridden adults over 60 years old, in nursing homes and at home.
