Canal – more tonnage less transits
Transits, were down but more cargo passed through the Panama Canal in the first quarter of the fiscal year 2021 (October, November, and December 2020) compared with the same period the previous year. 134 million tons were transported in those three months, compared to 133 million the previous year, the transits had a decrease of 155 ships.
3,261 transits were registered against 3, 416 transits in the first quarter of the previous year.
