Covid daily death toll hits new high on Christmas Eve
On Thursday, December 24, in Panama, there were 51 deaths from Covid-19 the highest daily toll since the start of the pandemic in the country in March. The second-highest death toll was toll 42 on December 17.
According to the epidemiological report of the Minsa, this Thursday 3,413 new positive cases were detected, for a cumulative total of 223,674. Active cases total 39,914.
The Minsa detailed that 16,375 tests were applied Thursday, with a positivity percentage of of 20.8%.
With the 51 new deaths registered, there are 3,715 accumulated deaths, with a fatality of 1.7%.
There are 1,870 hospitalized, of them 1,683 are in a ward and 187 in intensive care.
