Pandemic is a business in Panama

The general director of the state-owned corporation that manages the Tocumen International Airport has been irresponsible in handling information on the laboratories that are installed in the air terminal to apply Covid-19 tests to travelers entering the country without the results of a negative test from the place of origin.

You have provided the information that seemed best to you and therefore scarce; You have omitted important data without justification. It has not called for a tender to choose these companies and consequently has hired direct; It has trampled on the Transparency Law and has lent itself to a game that is clearly dirty, protecting interests that try to hide, but that clearly show the footprint of officials of this Government. 

The pandemic is a business, There is no doubt about that, especially for some soulless officials, trying to take advantage of the misfortune of others. They may not be visible, but you can feel their characteristic nauseating smell, a product of bringing public servants together with businessmen. That is the bottom of the problem: the airport does not deliver the information because it could find what otherwise has to be unearthed.
