Children's Hospital cancels elective surgery

On Monday, December 14, the Children’s Hospital will suspend all elective surgeries and care in the Specialized Outpatients.

“These measures are aimed at preserving the health of our patients and collaborators, contributing to the reduction of the spread of the infection and also guaranteeing our physical and human resource capacity to attend to patients who come with an emergency or illness that requires hospitalization. All appointments in the Specialized Outpatient area will be rescheduled and appointments will not be assigned until further notice. Elective surgeries will be re-scheduled once the health situation allows it.

They reiterate that only one family member per patient will be allowed in hospitalization rooms and call on citizens to make good use of the Emergency Service and go to the hospital only for true emergencies so that they can be dealt with expeditiously and without exposing the child.
