Doctor killed by covid-19 lacked funds for transplant
Dr Carlos Manuel Mendoza 31, who was infected with COVID-19, while working with an ambulance service, died on Wednesday, October 21.
The young doctor from Pintada, Cocle, was a recent graduate and when he was infected with the virus complications developed and he needed a lung transplant and be transferred to the United States for treatment with a million-dollar price tag.
His family and friends started a collection but raised only $100,000.
