Chamber of Commerce wantsto keep “new normal” ball rolling

As Panama cautiously moves to the “new normal” with diners heading to their favorite restaurants and shoppers returning to the malls,Panama’s  Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture (CCIAP) calls on consumers to keep the ball rolling and  country not to lower their  guard against the pandemic.

In   the week of “Corporate Social Responsibility”, the Chamber  made a compilation of the actions that have been taken to contribute to the awareness of the population about Covid-19 , the contribution of companies in protection supplies for health personnel and support programs for small and medium-sized companies, among other measures.

The group calls on businessmen, representatives of civic clubs, and civil society in general, to support on-site the work of the doctors and authorities in early care and promotion of sanitary measures, especially in the areas of greater contagion, through the # TodoPanamá movement.

“The summation of the living forces and the execution of exemplary measures are necessary at a time when the country is moving towards a long journey of recovery, for which it is inadmissible to lower our guard in order not to retreat says the Chamber.

The call comes at a time when the Health authorities are projecting an increase in new cases of the new coronavirus for next week after the increase in people on the streets following the lifting o f  several restrictions since September 7.

The Minister of Health, Luis Francisco Sucre, said Saturday that a return to absolute quarantine on Saturdays and Sundays is being evaluated in the districts of Soná and Santiago, in of Veraguas. And, they will re-impose a curfew from 7:00 pm to 5:00 am
