Metropolitan Park reopens October 12
The 232-hectare Metropolitan Natural Park will reopen its gates to the public on October 12, seven months after the Health Ministry ordered its closure to mitigate the spread of Covid-19.
Entrance to the natural site unique to cities on the continent will be by reservation and the Park’s board said on Thursday that in the next few days it will release details of the reservation method.
In normal times This site receives about 50,000 visitors a year, who travel some of the 7 enabled trails. There are also early morning guided tours to see some of the thousands of tropical birds that live there,
The Ministry of Health has authorized the opening of other national parks and protected areas from October 5.
