Sinaproc on alert as tropical wave 38 arrives

The National Civil Protection System (Sinaproc)  is on alert as tropical wave # 38 passes over Panama bringing electrical storms, strong winds, and “rains of varying intensity” through the rest of the week.

The director of Sinaproc, Carlos Rumbo, reported continuous surveillance for all provinces as the wave generates instability.

Sinaproc said that for the next few days rains are expected towards the west, central regions, areas of the metropolitan region and the eastern part of the country.

The Etesa Hydrometeorology office indicated that from October 1 there will be an increase in south wind in the Pacific. The rains and storms of moderate to strong intensity will continue over the provinces of Panama, Panama Oeste, Colón, Comarca de Guna Yala and much of Darién.
