No Independence Parades or Carnival, but holidays remain
In spite of the fact that there will be no parades or major events to mark Panama’s National days in November the three days of paid holidays will still be in place and in February Shrove Tuesday continues as a day off although Carnival has been canceled says the Ministry of Labor.
“Regardless of whether the national holidays or carnivals are celebrated, in the way we are usually used to celebrating it, it is important to remember that mandatory rest day are kept. This means that November 3, 5, 10 and 28, are mandatory rest days; and for
carnival parties, Shrove Tuesday is a mandatory day of rest in accordance with the provisions of the Labor Code, ”explained Cristal Lawson, advisor to the Ministry of Labor.
