Transparency International condemns Panama Comptroller
The Panama Chapter of Transparency International regretted the recent decision by the Comptroller General, Gerardo Solís, to endorse the contract for the modular hospital in Albrook, despite ongoing questions
“The impact on public trust has been immediate: discrediting the Executive’s ability to be guided by ethical principles of public administration that avoid conflicts of interest and influence peddling; and doubts about the role of control, inspection and the counterweight of the Comptroller himself, “said The Foundation for Citizen Freedom, which had recommended to Solís” not to endorse ” the contract of the hospital.
They had also recommended that he send a note to the Public Ministry to initiate the pertinent investigations and those responsible to face their responsibilities.
