OPINION: Corruption rewarded, the user pays
The conflict between the Social Security Fund (CSS) and the FCC company – responsible for the construction of the City of Health – will not end well for anyone, but, as always, the insured will suffer the worst part. This project was born out of a dubious need, but with worse intentions. There are informants who have confessed that bribes were paid for this project to be awarded; that bribes were paid for changes in the contract. And now, are we surprised that this project is a disaster, that they want to terminate the contract?
What can you expect from a project that was born so that a few would get rich? This award is the palpable example of how corruption impoverishes and how a few rob hundreds of thousands of patients and users, who must part with their salary to have access to the health service. Those who stole enjoy the millions drained into the meager funds of an institution that have driven her to death.
The CSS has been the target of scandals since the times of the military … and today we see the consequences. Saving the CSS will cost us, policyholders, once again, sacrifices and hardships, because politicians consider it part of their political loot. – LA PRENSA, Sep. 4
