Reopening timetable starts September 7, restaurants open October

The “updated national-provincial reopening plan” was approved by the Cabinet Council on Tuesday afternoon, August 25, with the construction industry back to full activity on September 7,  with the free zones reopening followed by the lifting of mobility restrictions and the reduction of curfew hours. By the end of the month, shops, and restaurants will be open, and national aviation will be reactivated on October 12.

Biosecurity
According to the plan, the measures will be adopted based on biosafety indicators such as the rate of effective reproduction of cases and the capacity of beds available at the national level, both for wards and for Respiratory and Intensive Care Units.

President Cortizo said that the entire society must assume joint responsibility in the observance of the measures that guarantee the safe and reliable progress of the country towards a full recovery of the economy.

September 7
 The construction industry and related activities (engineers, architects, project managers, contractors, moving and hauling services  will  resume work

The Panama Pacific Special Economic Area, the Colon Free Zone, private marinas will reopen. and sport fishing, as well as tailor shops and dressmakers, shoe stores and car washes will open,

September 14
The mobility restriction by gender is lifted and the safe-conducts will not be needed  with the exception of companies that, due to their economic activity, require mobility of their workers during curfew hours.

From September 14 the curfew will be from 11:00 pm to 5:00 am from Monday to Saturday.

Total quarantine will remain  on Sunday.

September 21
Sports activities will be reopened, but behind closed doors

September 28
The  retail trade, restaurants and inns,  reopen  along with professional services, administrative and general services.

National aviation opens, family activities on the beach, rivers and natural parks, by province, and the Presidente Remón Racecourse will reopen , but without an audience.

October 12
 The curfew ends, including on Sunday.

International  aviation resumes along with hotels, motels, rural hostels, lodging places and complementary services.

The opening of tourist activities, non-essential transport (recreational and tourism), creative and cultural industries, music and art academies, libraries, swimming pools and the National Charity Lottery are planned.
