Copa regains its wings as US warns against travel to region
After more than four months paralyzed by the COVID-19 pandemic with over 100 planes nesting at Tocumen International Airport regained its wings on Friday, August 7 with flights from Panama and connections to eight countries in the Americas and eleven destinations.
The next flight dates are August 10, 12, 14, 15, 21, 22, 28, 29.
Copa will fly to cities in the United States, Costa Rica, Mexico, Chile, Brazil, Ecuador, and the Dominican Republic.
The cities from which Copa will fly are: Miami, Washington DC, Guayaquil, Santo Domingo, San José (Costa Rica), Mexico City, New York, Santiago de Chile, Sao Paulo, Quito, Santo Domingo.
However, the airline specified that Panamanians or residents of this country will be allowed to enter Panama exclusively, on flights previously authorized by the Government of Panama.
Copa restarts its operations, after last week the National Government authorized a Controlled Operations Center at Tocumen International Airport, which allows the departure of passengers from Panama, the transit of passengers, limiting the number of flights and controlled entry of Panamanian passengers residing in the national territory.
The reopening coincides with Panama and most countries in the region being placed on a “no go” list bu the US State Department.
