20 deaths in one day brings pansemic total to 521
The deaths of 20 people from Covid-19 , Sunday brought Panama’s pandemic death toll to 521 The daily toll is the highest to date, with the previous peak d on June 6, when 16 deaths were recorded, but Panama’s lethality rate at 1.95%, is well below the global percentage, of 5.22%.
The accumulated total of cases is 26,752, including 722 on Sunday. The latest report shows that that 10,820 are in isolation and 747 are hospitalized. With , 615 in wards and 132 in intensive care units pushing the system to its limits.
On Sunday 2,087 tests were carried out, with 35% positive, far from the 10% ideal for controlling the epidemic.
