Panama’s humanitarian rescue of cruise ship crew

The Panama Maritime Authority (AMP) and the Ministry of Health on Thursday June 11  participated in the repatriation of 91 crew members of a Carnival cruise ship anchored for more than 30 days in Panamanian waters.

They will be transferred to return to their countries.  There are 25 nationalities, and the agency is in the process of returning, them ” said an AMP spokesperson.

The Ministry of Health participated in this operation because the country is in a national emergency due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The crew members will be taken to Colón, to take another boat to Curaçao the original destination  of the cruise.
