Ending quarantine fatigue
The total quarantine and social isolation measures were aimed at controlling coronavirus infections and preventing hospitals and other health facilities from collapsing. The health authorities have managed to identify with great precision the contagion conglomerates, which in various parts of the national geography keep the rate of new infections above the expected level.
In other cities, such as Bogotá, absolute quarantine has been concentrated in these conglomerates, while opening with sanitary measures and physical distancing applies to the rest of society.
This strategy avoids population fatigue, reduces the fatigue of health personnel and efficiently allocates human and health care resources to the most needy areas. It is appropriate to open the doors and expand activities in those areas with a low level of infection, making it easier for those at lower risk to move more freely. Panama has amply proven that it has the capacity to face the pandemic. Now let’s demonstrate that we are capable of overcoming quarantine – LA PRENSA, May 20.
