Four Santo Tomas doctors get virus from a-symptomatic patients
Four surgery resident doctors at the Santo Tomás Hospital contracted Covid-19 after contact with patients who had no symptoms of the virus reports The Ministry of Health (Minsa)
“The fact was verified when the doctors had contact with patients who had surgical emergencies and were not known to be positive for Covid-19 (they were asymptomatic).”
According to the Minsa, there were four to five patients who have the virus, but had no symptoms and transmitted the disease.
The health authorities highlighted that the testing protocol was applied immediately with the rest of the patients and the medical and nursing staff. All those who tested positive were subjected to isolation and medical control.
