LOCKDOWN: Over 1,500-weekend arrests, 144 towed vehicles
Over 1,500 people were detained over the weekend and 144 vehicles were towed for flouting quarantine rules in place to slow the spread of coronavirus.
The National Police reported that A total of 1,545 people were arrested; 1,471 adults and 74 minors.
Absolute quarantine is enforced on weekends and only those with safe-conduct because of their work are allowed on the streets.
