Coronavirus recoveries exceed deaths for first time
As Panama entered its total weekend lockdown in a row the Ministry of Health (Minsa) reported that on Thursday, April 16, for the first time the number of recovered patients exceeds the number of deceased
The Ministry announced on Friday, that a total of 122 people had recovered, while the number of deceased was 116.
The statistics show that 194 new cases with COVID-19 were reported, for a cumulative figure of 4,210.
There are 3,631 people in home isolation and 341 hospitalized; 247 in the ward and 94 in intensive care.
In two days the cases in intensive care by 12; on Thursday, April 16, 106 cases were recorded and on Friday, 94.
Since March 19, the authorities have been applying a series of measures to contain the spread of the virus. For the second weekend in a row, the total quarantine is implemented on Saturday and Sunday.
