Panama COVID-19   cases approach 2,000 with 41 deaths

The number of confirmed cases of COVID-19  in Panama reached  1,801  on Saturday, April 4 with 46 deaths.

There were, 128 are new cases, and if the upward trend continues the 2,000  cases predicted by Good Friday will be surpassed

There have been13 recoveries.

There are 1,513 cases In home isolation of which 298 are in hotels.

10 transfers have been made from hotels to hospitals. Meanwhile, there are 229 patients hospitalized, of which 164 are in wards and  75 are in intensive care.

9,256 tests have been carried out, of these 80.!%, 7,416 have been negative.

Use of masks
Dr. Javier Nieto, advisor to the Ministry of Health, reported that an investigation that shows that 25% of people with COVID-19 are asymptomatic.

Faced with this scenario, he reiterated that there is a scientific justification for the use of the mask. Priority number 1 is that person who has respiratory symptoms or for those who are caring for one, the second priority is the health worker.

If you are a person who has to go to the supermarket, who has to travel  by public transport and cannot guarantee a distance of more than 1.5 meters, it is preferable to use the mask.

He said  that if the mask is being used, we cannot be touching our faces or touching the mask, and proper use must be accompanied by frequent  hand
