Trump administration coronavirus reaction “sub Saharan”
“The Trump administration’s handling of the whole Covid-19 issue is what one would expect in Sub-Saharan Africa. Improvisations, contradictions, ideas without a scientific basis and just thinking about ‘the numbers’, ” says a prominent Panama cardiologist stranded on the Grand Princess cruise ship
Daniel Pichel and his doctor’s wife Helen are among the 3,500 people traveling on the boat. Both are well.
The two may have more days to wait although the vessel carrying 21 confirmed cases of coronavirus has docked in Oakland.
On his Twitter account, Pichel said they still do not know when they will disembark and that they may have to wait a few days to get off the ship.
“We still don’t know, but most likely we will have to wait two or three days to disembark. We depend on how the State Department [United States] coordinates with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Panama, ”
The Grand Princess cruise ship was anchored in the waters of San Francisco California, and according to information from the AFP agency, passengers who need “intensive medical treatment and hospitalization” will begin disembarking. US citizens will be moved to quarantine facilities in US military bases. The fate of passengers from 54 other countries has not yet been deyermined
