Fresh high waves alert follows drowning death
Another high wave and strong winds alert,on the Caribbean coast this time extending to Saturday midnight was issued by The National Civil Protection System (Sinaproc) on Wednesday, January 15.
A 61-year-old woman tourist has drowned in spite of earlier warnings.
According to the Office of Forecast and Meteorological Surveillance of Etesa, there are waves between 1.5 and 4 meters.
Sinaprocwarns “to avoid reckless behavior” and recommends light boats to take safety measures. Bathers are advised to avoid entering the sea if they observe very strong waves.
They also recommend that parents keep children under surveillance.
