Senior cop fired without pension
National Police (PN) Commissioner (PN), Jacinto Chinto Gómez, was dismissed from his post on Thursday, January 2. The police disciplinary board made the decision to fire Gomez, after a session that lasted 10 minutes.

Gomez served as deputy director and general director in charge of the Police in the last months of the administration of Juan Carlos Varela (2014-2019).
He served as deputy secretary of the National Security Council, close to the former head of that entity, Rolando “Picuiro” López, also in the past administration.
