Supermarket fined $23,000 for mislabeling
The El Machetazo supermarket has been hit with a $23,000 fine for irregularities in the sale of Chirican beans, says the Consumer Protection Authority (Acodeco).
The Authority said that the sanction is related to a complaint filed last year by the Association of Rice Producers of Chiriquí (APACH), due to the commercialization of a bean that did not match what was indicated on the label, coupled with the fact that the product did not declares packing date, category, designation, or quality grade.
