Comptroller nixes salary for lawmaker under house arrest
PRD lawmaker deputy Arquesio Arias accused of the alleged commission of crimes against sexual freedom will not continue to receive his salary while under house arrest says The Comptroller General who has notified the National Assembly of the suspension of the payment.
Arias has been under f house arrest since Monday, October 21 and, by orders of the Supreme Court, agents of the National Police are commissioned to verify strict compliance with the measure.
The Comptroller said that “he will only be paid until the date Court issued the house arrest measure.”
Deputy Arias, who has repeatedly denied having abused two women in the Guna Yala region when he was a doctor, also had his two passports removed: the diplomatic and the regular.
