Firefighters stymied by water shortage as tourist icon burns

Firefighters from units of the Dolega and Boquete Fire Department were hampered by explosions in the main building and lack of nearby hydrants as they fought a blaze at a popular Boquete tourist center –  “My Garden is your garden” in the early hours of Saturday, September 28.  The bomberos were forced to bring in water tanks from David but the wooden building was totally destroyed in two hours

For decades the owners of the location had allowed tourists to enter  and take photographs

 Investigations to determine the causes of the fire are underway.
