Washing lawmakers’ unspeakable dirty clothes

They are neither mouthpieces nor toilet paper, as one PRD deputy says, furious because the media have investigated the use of money that some deputies and/or the National Assembly give to state money. These are serious irregularities in the expenditure of $113 million in contracts for about 15,000 people and $ 15million in donations for 6,000. And there he found everything, according to an audit of the Comptroller. This would explain why some conspicuous deputies have led their artful attacks against the Comptroller, the Public Ministry, and the media. The first, because there is nothing that prevents the Comptroller from investigating the use of the funds that the deputies spend with free hands or that will end up in their pockets. The second, because prosecutors will corroborate and could ask for legal proceedings against those involved when it comes to the weakest links: those who do dirty work for deputies, susceptible to deletion agreements. And to the media, because they divulge their misdeeds, they make it possible for people to be informed of their unspeakable activities and for citizens to make the decision not to re-elect them. That is what these people fear: dirty clothes washed in front of their constituents. LA PRENSA, Aug. 23.
