Four injured as taxi slams 911 ambulance
Four people were injured when a taxi slammed into the back of a Sume 911 ambulance he was tailing on Wednesday night August 7. The ambulance was taking a patient to the Nicolás A. Solano hospital in La Chorrera when the collision took place in the Vista Alegre de Arraiján sector.
Two paramedics were the patient’s companion and the taxi passenger suffered injuries
The victims were helped and taken by another 911 ambulance to the Santa Fe Hospital and are out of danger.
A spokesman for Sume 911 said that this is one of the biggest obstacles that emergency professionals face every day, especially with taxi drivers who follow behind the ambulances with to advance in the traffic jams, putting in danger the lives of others waiting for help. The Sume reiterates to drivers to practice courtesy in driving and to give way when they hear the sirens of emergency vehicles.
