San Carlos fishermen get tourism boost
A project to equip the beaches with facilities such as bathrooms, showers, parking lots and a perimeter wall was presented by President Juan Carlos Varela to the fishermen of La Ermita beach, in the village of La Ermita, in San Carlos, province of Panamá Oeste on Monday, April 9.
The president said that the project integrates fishermen into the tourism development of the country providing the first public beaches that have facilities for tourists and nationals.
The $1.7 million project will be carried out by the construction company Rosa, SA, and includes construction of a four kilometers asphalt road.
