Law-studen throat cut for TV set
A 21- year-old law student found with her throat cut on Thursday, March 21 in Vista Alegre, Colon, was the 18th homicide victim in the province this year, but the first woman to be murdered.
Police believe that robbery was the motive as television had disappeared from the home that Cristal Becerra and her fiancé had moved into a few months before and were making plans for their wedding in April at a church they attended.
She was in the third year of Law School at the Regional University Center of Colón (CRUC) and had she worked in the Office of the Attorney General since she graduated from high school.
Her body was found by her boyfriend on his return from his nighttime job.
