Chamber’s Christmas wish – end to clientelism, populism
Panama’s Chamber of Commerce (Cciap) sent a Christmas message to the country on Sunday, December 23.
“What if, together, we propose to recover the values that have defined us as a peaceful, tolerant and inclusive society, open to the contribution of those who enrich our country with the human and cultural contribution brought from all over the world? “,
The business association said that 2018 has been a year marked by problems related to institutionality and the administration of justice. And noted that the country is heading for an electoral tournament in 2019 of vital importance because the public administration will face renewal.
“What if the political forces decide to cohere around the general interest and discard practices that, like clientelism and populism, undermine the foundations of the democracy that has cost Panamanians so much? What better gifts can we give to our beloved homeland? concluded the message.
