The eagle flies for Kushner
The outgoing president of Mexico, Enrique Peña Nieto, honored Jared Kushner, advisor and son-in-law of US President Donald Trump, for “his extraordinary contribution to the bilateral relationship”, which is going through one of its most tense moments in contemporary history reports Reuters
Kushner received the Mexican Order of the Aztec Eagle, the highest distinction that Mexico grants to foreigners who have rendered “prominent services” to Mexico or Humanity.
Peña Nieto highlighted his role as “a key player” to channel the relationship between Mexico and the US, especially during the complex and prolonged negotiation of the new trade agreement between both countries and Canada. The agreements were formally signed during the G20 meetings in Buenas Aires, but media reports hint that the incoming president may want to take a fresh look.
