No-show Cancer fraudster moves to jail
Convicted fraudster Milagros Lay, who ran a scam claiming she had cancer and was sentenced to do five years community work will now spend the time in jail as she failed to comply with the work schedule in San Miguelito.
On Thursday, November 15 The Superior Court of Appeals confirmed the suspension of community work by a compliance judge of Guarantees, on November 7 so she will be transferred to a penitentiary to serve the rest of her 60 months sentence in prison
The suspension was due to non-compliance with conditions applied by a judge of Guarantees on May 10 after Lay reached a penalty agreement with the prosecution and succeeded in replacing her jail sentence for community work in the Mayor’s department of San Miguelito
