OPINION: No blind votes for presidential wannabes
Yesterday, (Sunday)the electoral offer was finalized in terms of the main political parties. However, to date, there are no known governing plans that citizens can compare or positions that candidates have presented for the electorate. to contrast. Once the place of each party has been consolidated, those who aspire to govern Panama must convince Panamanians that their proposal in the face of such pressing problems as institutionalism, economy, security, inequality, health, and pensions is the best. It is not enough to recognize the existence of these realities but to explain with precision the formula that they think to use to solve them. We hope to see an opening in the communication strategy of those candidates who have chosen to avoid the media, an absolute disposition to exchange ideas with civil society and a willingness to reveal their way of thinking in the face of great issues. No Panamanian should give, nor should any candidate commit the audacity of waiting for a blind vote.- LA PRENSA, Oct.29
