Lawmaker facing $33,000 bounced checks probe
Two new criminal complaints of bounced checks have been filed in the Supreme Court against PRD deputy Alfredo “Fello” Perez accused of paying a private company with checks without funds.
The allegations were filed last week by Marcial Buitrago, representing the company Bamos Adelante SA.
“Fello” Pérez owes the company $ 80,000, for a commercial operation, say the complaints.
To pay the debt, the deputy paid a check of $26,000 in April this year but, the bank returned the check NSF.
The same situation occurred with a check for $2,000, which was paid by “Fello” Pérez to Bamos Adelante SA, in August.
Perez already has an open investigation in the court, for paying the company JVU International SA, with a check of $5,000, without funds.
JVU International SA was hired by the deputy for the preparation and installation of playgrounds, benches and exercise machines in Chepo and Las Margaritas, the district that elected him.
Judge Oydén Ortega is the prosecutor in charge of the investigation.
