Wannabe president retreadseeks US visa re-instatement
Former Panama President Ernesto “Toro” Pérez Balladares (1994-1999) who aims to be a presidential candidate in 2019, is seeking to get his US Visa back.
It was revoked in 1999 and in 2001he acknowledged that a US Justice Department prosecutor investigated his alleged relationship with the traffic of 137 Chinese citizens to the United States, but said that official confirmed to his lawyers that the case was closed because no evidence was found against him.
He said on Thursday, August 9 that he will make the application to the US Embassy for the reinstatement of his visa “And I’m sure it’s going to be granted, “he told Radio Panama.
He reported that he can make such a claim because he has met with several gringo “agents”
He said that in the past he tried to know the reasons why they removed the visa almost 20 years ago. “They told l me: ‘we do not know’,” he added.
