Martinelli chasing Panama Vice-president for $20 million

From his cell in El Renacer prison, former President Ricardo Martinelli is calling for the firing of Panama’s Vice president’s and chancellor, Isabel de Saint Malo de Alvarado, and demanding $20 million for alleged damages.

A criminal complaint against  Saint Malo was presented by two of his battalion of lawyers and party faithful  – Alejandro Pérez and Alma Cortés-   on  Monday, August 6.

for the supposed commission of crimes against the public administration “in the modality of omission in the exercise of her functions and violation of the right of defense “.

The amount of compensation – according to the complaint is for alleged damage to commercial, business, banking, social, family and political interests.

Martinelli. It claims  savings and current bank accounts  and credit  lines have been closed

“He  does not have credit cards since they were all canceled by banks with which he had a business relationship for more than 30 years, and  he has not been able to make any investment or business because of the restrictions imposed by banks and companies of which it is and was a partner “(sic).

Democratic Change is included in the list of alleged affectations. Martinelli is presented in the complaint as “founder and nominal president” of the party, ” which he created to further his political ambitions.
