Panama to host 2022 Central America-Caribbean Games
Panama City will host the XXIV Central American and Caribbean Sports Games in 2022 at an estimated cost of $200 million.
It will be the third time Panama has been the host, first in 1938 and again in 1970.
Henry Pozo, President of the Organizing Committee said in Barranquilla, Colombia where the 2018 games ended this week, that 99% of the sport disciplines will be in the capital city and only surfing would be taking place in another province.
New Sports centers A High Performance Center for combats, a velodrome and a modern aquatic center are some of the new sports that will be built.
“Next week we will meet with Pandeportes and the government to start running and have everything ready,” said Pozo.
It is planned, to celebrate the games between the end of April and the beginning of May 2022.
In the of Barranquilla Games , the Panamanian delegation finished 13 medals, three gold, five silver and five bronze.
