Chiriqui celebrates 169 years anniversary
The Municipality of Boquerón commemorated on Saturday, May 26, the 169th anniversary of the foundation of the province of Chiriqui with activities highlighting the benefits of the province and its historical, cultural, and productive contribution to the country, which reflected the need to remain a pillar of development.
Known as the “Valley of the Moon”, and officially founded on May 26, 1849, Chiriqui, is one of the main provinces of Panama, with major agricultural and livestock productivity, and has provided broad support especially in the tourism field, one of the most sustainable means for the country as a whole. It is also the center of Panama ’s coffee industry, including the world famed geisha.
