Nearly 3000 foreigners deported in four months

 

The National Migration Service (SNM) has deported 2,893 people during the first four months of 2018 due to administrative faults, the largest number were from Venezuela.

The numbers are a big jump from the first quarter of 2017 when 1,096  were shown the door.

.Among the faults committed are: stay expired; a threat to collective security; entering  the country irregularly; remain in the country; illegally, or have  been convicted and have served a penalty for a crime.

The people were deported, expelled or the measure of voluntary return has been applied, says the SNM.

The citizens with the highest number of applied processes are 1,848 Venezuelans; 406Nicaraguans. 377 Colombians.
