Security personnel caught with 1,800 rounds of ammo
Two Panama security forces personnel one a member of the Joint Task Force and the other from the National Border Service (Senafront) were arrested with more than 1,800 unexploded ordnance in a small panel van on Saturday, May 12.
The Senafront issued a statement declaring that it is available to the Public Ministry and will provide all the support required in the investigation.
“The Senafront will not allow officers to tarnish the image of the institution with acts at odds with the law,” said the statement.
They stressed that the capture must be seen as part of a set of policing actions of the units themselves to promote a culture of legality within the same security strata.
