Riptide alert for Pacific coastline
A tidal rip alert for beaches on Panama’s Pacific coasts was issued by The National of Civil Protection System (Sinaproc) on Tuesday, April 24.
The National Direction of Hydrometeorology of Etesa predicted swells coming from the southwest, generated by storms in the Pacific Ocean.
The strongest waves are expected to occur on Wednesday, April 25, with a height of no more than 2 meters but caution is recommended for bathers, as these swells can cause rip currents.
According to the forecast, the swells will extend until April 27, with waves of up to 2.5 meters.
