Panama Government Minister resigns
Minister of Government María Luisa Romero, resigned on Tuesday, April 24 citing “urgent personal reasons”
Romero was appointed minister on January 12, 2017, to replace Milton Henríquez, who is now Panama’s ambassador to Spain.
According to the Presidency, Romero will continue as part of the selection committee of aspiring magistrates of the Supreme Court.
President Varela has designated current Deputy Minister Carlos Rubio as Minister from May 2 next. Rubio is a Popular Party member and has been deputy minister since January 12, 2017.
