Twitter threat suspect arrested
A 24year-old, suspected of being the man who tweeted Panama’s first lady with threats against her disc jockey son, has been arrested.
The threatening messages via Twitter to First Lady Lorena Castillo de Varela, were a violation of the criminal codes and came from the Twitter account @abrahamvergara2.
The first lady reported the threats on April 17, and said they were made against her son, Gian Varela.
She asked the National Police and the Public Ministry to investigate the threat,
Security Minister Alexis Betancourt filed the complaint.
The identity of the suspect, who was arrested in El Crisol, San Miguelito, was not released.
