Stranded Cubans face more months in limbo

CUBAN immigrants stranded at the hostel of Los Planes,in Gualaca, Chiriquí, for over two months are likely to remain there for at least another two while officials figure out what to do with them.

Governor Hugo Méndez said that he has been told by the Ministry of Public Security that, tentatively, they will remain between two months and two and a half months more at the shelter.

Mendez said that the Ministry of Public Security is studying  options to see what will happen to them.

Cubans who have chronic illnesses, are visited periodically  by the Ministry of Health  says Mendez.

Others takes care of them adequately, along with being given medicines to ensure their good health.
