No more driver freebies on Corridors

DRIVERS  on the North and South Corridors will  in future  pay not only for use of the highways but for the decal   placed on their  vehicles to allow access.

The measure was announced on the weekend by the National Motorways (ENA), the state-owned entity responsible for managing the two highways.

The cost of the decals will be $10

“Until now, this charge was subsidized by the company and was not charged, but this money

generated very high expenses and limited the resources to invest In other service topics such as security, and  orridor facilities”. Said a company statement. “It is worth remembering That ENA is a company that generates its own resources for its operation, the attention of the users With the services of crane, ambulance and police, the operation of brokers, and payment of debt, ” said Carlos Barnes, manager of the  company.

The National Highway Company (ENA) obtained revenues of 154 million in 2016, which represents an increase Of $22 million or 17% more than in the previous year.
