Policewoman becomes 153rd highway casualty
A 24-YEAR-OLD National Police officer was killed on Wednesday, Apr. 26, after the lince (lynx) patrol motorcycle on which she was riding shotgun crashed. The driver was thrown clear but Allison Gill was run over by a truck and became Panama’s 153rd fatal highway casualty of the year.
The lince patrols consist of a driver and a pillion passenger carrying a submachine gun who patrol the streets and are able to respond swiftly incidents.
The accident took place at 4 p.m., a t the entrance to the Jorge Illueca neighborhood, in Tocumen next to La Plaza Los Pinos. The policewoman died at the accident scene.
