First Odebrecht audits show $318 million overcharges
WITH ONLY five of eleven audits of Odebrecht projects completed the Comptroller General has uncovered overcharges of $318 million during the Ricardo Martinelli administration.
Audited by the Comptroller General’s Office so far are the expansion project of Avenida Domingo Díaz, two projects on Via Brazil, the renovation of Casco Viejo and the Cinta Costera III.
Officials of the Comptroller’s Office formally presented the audits to the Public Prosecutor on Wednesday April 26.
The cost overruns ranged from 13.7 to 29.5 percent.
Among projects with audits outstanding are Metro line 1, and the Tocumen International Airport Expansion.
