Hearing of jailed ex-judge suspended
A HEARING to review the health and living conditions of jailed ex- Supreme Court president Alejandro Moncada Luna, has been suspended for the second time.
The hearing requested by the former judge was to have been held on Tuesday April 25.
Panamenista deputy Jorge Iván Arrocha, who Is part of the National Assembly Compliance Tribunal which is monitoring the case, reported that the cancelation was b cause PRD deputy Pedro Miguel González, who was the prosecutor in the process that led to the jailing in a a plea deal, could attend the appointment.
The hearing was to have been in the white collar El Renacer prison where Moncada Luna is serving a five-year sentence for unjustified enrichment and falsification of public documents.
Ramiro Jarvis, lawyer of the ex-judge requested the hearing to reviewed the health and conditions under which his client is imprisoned.
This is the second time that the hearing has been suspended. It was originally scheduled for March 28.
